Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Valiant Cross Academy

Valiant Cross Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by the Banks Academy Jets to the tune of 62-31. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Valiant Cross Academy was led to victory by James Cosby and Deshawn Hall. Cosby dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Hall dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Hall has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 35 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jersey Farbes, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Valiant Cross Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in 38 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Valiant Cross Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Banks Academy, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valiant Cross Academy and Evangel Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangel Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Banks Academy will take on Hope Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
