West Allis Hale suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 two weeks ago. They were dealt a 74-31 defeat at the hands of Wauwatosa East. While losing is never fun, West Allis Hale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Wauwatosa East is ranked 27th).
Meanwhile, Brookfield Central's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over Brookfield Academy. The win was just what Brookfield Central needed coming off of a 61-35 defeat in their prior matchup.
Brookfield Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josie Piurkowski, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Dylan Romero, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Grace Luedke, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
West Allis Hale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Brookfield Central, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
Things could have been worse for West Allis Hale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-41 loss to Brookfield Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can West Allis Hale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
