Baseball Recap: Glenwood Wins Going Away Against Mt. Zion

While Glenwood put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Mt. Zion. The Titans were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Braves. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Young tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Henry Rose was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ryan Packett also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Glenwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Mt. Zion, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Coming up, Glenwood will be playing at home against Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out on the road to square off against Robinson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
