YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. -
Joshua Springs (Yucca Valley, Calif.) wasted no time with 34 points in the first quarter, eventually ending with a 72-8 victory over San Pasqual Academy (Escondido, Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Jeffrey Bachman touchdown run in the first quarter, the Lightning led 58-8 at the half.
Joshua Springs grew its lead to 64 points entering the fourth quarter. JS scored three times in the third, including once on a
Caleb Kint touchdown pass to
Josh Edelbrock.
Joshua Springs' most effective player was Bachman. The sophomore running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
San Pasqual Academy's only touchdown came on a 50-yard pass from Brandon Alexander to Rigo Beltran in the second quarter.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Lightning, who lost to Lucerne Valley last week, 32-30.
In a non-conference game next week Joshua Springs (2-1) takes on Spring Mountain, and San Pasqual Academy (0-2) will go up against Public Safety Academy also in a non-conference game.
