The Skyview Wolverines lost against the Evergreen Cougars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Skyview falling 25-6. They have struggled against Evergreen recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bryson Gutierrez threw for 163 yards and a touchdown. Sam Cortes was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Carlos Carrillo rushed for 54 yards.
Evergreen was led to victory by Solomon Bentrott and Josh Bittner. Bentrott rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while Bittner rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Bentrott really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Skyview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Evergreen, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyview will take on Conifer at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Evergreen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheat Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Wheat Ridge is ranked 145th, while Evergreen is ranked 157th).
