Even though the Quaker Valley Quakers scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Avonworth Antelopes still came out on top. Avonworth skirted past Quaker Valley  61-58. Given Avonworth's advantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 98th, while Quaker Valley is ranked 312th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 When it comes to explaining why Quaker Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Joey Coyle. Despite the final result, he  went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 5 assists. The  game was  Coyle's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Dominic Cox-Giles, who  scored six points along with 15  rebounds and three  steals.
 Even though they lost, Quaker Valley  were smashing the offensive glass and  finished the game with 14  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Avonworth's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Quaker Valley, they are  on a three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avonworth will take on Montour at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Montour is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last nine games. As for Quaker Valley, they will be playing at home against South Allegheny at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
