The Cross Creek Razorbacks lost against the Hephzibah Rebels back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cross Creek suffered a tough 39-14 defeat at the hands of Hephzibah. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cross Creek in their matchups with Hephzibah: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Cross Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Nixon. Despite the final result, he picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown. Nixon hasn't dropped below 100 receiving yards for three straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hephzibah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Telly Johnson, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Heath was another key contributor, picking up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cross Creek has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Hephzibah, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Cross Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hephzibah will head out on the road to face off against Crisp County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crisp County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
