The Carver Tigers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They slipped by Central 1-0.
Carver was led to victory by Tony Montgomery and Quadir Truesdale. Montgomery scored 14 points along with 9 steals, while Truesdale scored 18 points along with 4 steals. Ashton Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 3 steals.
Carver's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver will take on Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Carver likes a good challenge. As for Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kendrick at 6:30 p.m. Kendrick will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Central is ranked 126th).
