Franklin Learning Center's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jimmie Greeno, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight assists and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Greeno a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Bailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.
Franklin Learning Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins dating back to last season, Parkway Northwest's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 66-59 to KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy. One positive for the Hoyas, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Franklin Learning Center will have to contain Kahleem Jordan as he made an impact in Parkway Northwest's last game. He posted 31 points. That was a full 52.5% of Parkway Northwest's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaicir Isaac, who put up 17 points.
Franklin Learning Center pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Parkway Northwest, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
