Colquitt County is 8-2 against Camden County since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Colquitt County Packers will head out on the road to square off against the Camden County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Colquitt County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Colquitt County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak. They were the victim of a tough 74-49 loss at the hands of Lowndes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Colquitt County has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jamya Moore, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amira Walters- Smith, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Camden County was able to grind out a solid win over Valdosta on Friday, taking the game 55-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Camden County.
Camden County can attribute much of their success to Mahliya Reeder, who scored 18 points along with eight steals, and Taylor Rietveld, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reeder has scored all season. Akeelah Bryan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Colquitt County's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2. As for Camden County, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Colquitt County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.9 points per game. It's a different story for Camden County, though, as they've been averaging only 55.1 points per game. The only thing between Colquitt County and another offensive beatdown is Camden County. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Colquitt County took their win against Camden County in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 60-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colquitt County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
