Even if Freedom couldn't beat Colonial on Wednesday, underclassman Allison Smith still had a big game. Smith wasn't messing around, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off six hits. The pitching appearance was her ninth straight with five or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Smith and Freedom will welcome Innovation at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
