Tuloso-Midway scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Harmony School of Excellence, posting a 90-49 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tuloso-Midway has posted since December 15, 2023.
Meanwhile, Alice took their match at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 80-50 victory over Harmony School of Excellence. Given Alice's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Harmony School of Excellence is ranked 1386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alejandro Asevedo was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Calvin Villanueva was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Tuloso-Midway has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. As for Alice, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.
Tuloso-Midway came up short against Alice when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 45-35. Can Tuloso-Midway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
