The Lutheran Northwest Crusaders will head out to take on the Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lutheran Northwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Lutheran hit Lutheran Northwest with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Alyssa Parets made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Julia Conners, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Christian Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chargers a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Sophie Paryaski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Paryaski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mariah Wright was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Chloe Paryaski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Plymouth Christian Academy pushed their record up to 23-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lutheran Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both Lutheran Northwest and Plymouth Christian Academy just can't seem to miss. The Crusaders have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Plymouth Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lutheran Northwest suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Plymouth Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
