The University School Preppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Villa Angela-St. Joseph by a score of 68-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (59), University School still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Antonio Brown, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds for Villa Angela-St. Joseph. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Jeremiah Martin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and three steals.
University School has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
University School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Valley Forge is on a seven-game streak of home losses, University School a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Lake Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Villa Angela-St. Joseph is ranked 213th).
