For the first time this season, Mountain Ridge will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Herriman Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Mountain Ridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Last Saturday, Mountain Ridge earned a 6-2 win over Crimson Cliffs. The six-run effort marked the Sentinels' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Sydney Lambert spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Mountain Ridge let Avery Rawlins and Kelli Christiansen run wild. Rawlins scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Christiansen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Red Brooks also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Herriman never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Corner Canyon on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chargers a 15-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 12 runs or more this season.
Sierra Prescott looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Herriman got a massive performance out of Sofia Lancaster, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kinlee McDermaid was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Herriman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Herriman's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. As for Mountain Ridge, their record now sits at 6-0.
Mountain Ridge's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. Mountain Ridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Herriman, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Mountain Ridge continue to outrun the ball?
Mountain Ridge suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Herriman in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Mountain Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
