The Mitchell Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Dunedin Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mitchell comes in on four and Dunedin on five.
Mitchell's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They didn't even let Fivay on the board, marking Mitchell's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Midyett made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brenna Rush, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taylor Tucker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Mitchell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dunedin was able to grind out a solid victory over Gulf on Thursday, taking the game 6-1.
Like Mitchell, Dunedin also got a great game from a two-way player: Abby McLemore. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McLemore has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
McLemore wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Avery Royer, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Olivia Preston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Mitchell's record is now 12-2. As for Dunedin, their record is now 10-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Mitchell hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Dunedin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Mitchell's way against Dunedin in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Mitchell made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mitchell since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
