The Delphi Community Oracles will head out to face off against the South Newton Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
South Newton will be up against a hot Delphi Community team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Oracles came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Maconaquah. That's two games straight that the Oracles have won by just one run.

Levi Coghill made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.
Coghill wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Hutsell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Delphi Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maconaquah struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, South Newton had just enough and edged out Faith Christian 5-4 last Thursday.
Brayden Tesky and Thomas Applegate did most of the damage at the plate: Tesky went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Applegate went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Applegate has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Myles Wittenborn also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Delphi Community's record now sits at 12-3. As for South Newton, their record is now 3-6.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Delphi Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like South Newton struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Delphi Community got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against South Newton by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oracles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
