Stevie Cressionnie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Katie McBryde and Cassidy Reynell did most of the damage at the plate: McBryde went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Reynell went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Reynell has posted since back in May of 2024. Lauren Bass was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Wilson Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thales Academy Rolesville fell victim to Grace Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to the Crusaders.
Wilson Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Thales Academy Rolesville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Wilson Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Thales Academy Rolesville, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Wilson Christian Academy keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
Wilson Christian Academy took their victory against Thales Academy Rolesville in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
