The Cass Colonels fought the good fight in their overtime  contest against the Paulding County Patriots  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Patriots  54-49. Cass was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paulding County apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in November of 2022.
 Paulding County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Hope Johnson, who  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and 17  rebounds. Those 17  rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was  Alexus Wilson, who  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and 13  rebounds.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Cass and  nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Paulding County,  the  win  got them back to even at 6-6.
 Cass' road trip will continue as they head out to face Winder-Barrow at 3:00  p.m.  on December 21st. Winder-Barrow has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. Paulding County will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wheeler at 5:30  p.m.  on December 30th.
