For the second straight game, Saint Jo will face off against Perrin-Whitt. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint Jo hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
Perrin-Whitt hit Saint Jo with a seven-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 11-2 to the Pirates.
For Perrin-Whitt's part, Cole Keeney and Keagan Nevarez were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Keeney kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Nevarez tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Keeney a new career-high. At bat, Keeney went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Nevarez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Keeney is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Morris, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Riley Sims was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Perrin-Whitt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint Jo only posted an OBP of .231.
The victory made it two in a row for Perrin-Whitt and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Saint Jo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.
