Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Temple Christian Academy played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Yulee Hornets and fell 75-38. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Temple Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-43 back in November.

When it comes to explaining why Temple Christian Academy lost, don't look at Daiyon Williams. Despite the final result, he posted six points and 13 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last seven games he's played. Keith McReynold was another key player, putting up three points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Temple Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Carter Kirchner was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds for Yulee. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Cannone, who had 12 points along with five assists and three steals.

Temple Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Yulee, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Temple Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-43 loss against Parker on the 17th. As for Yulee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 79-70 defeat against Wildwood on the 18th.
