It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Aledo Bearcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Hawks 59-35. The victory was just business as usual for Aledo, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Aledo found their leader in underclassman Raycine Guillory jr, who rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Guillory jr really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Hauss Hejny, who threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
When it comes to explaining why Red Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Martinez jr. Despite the final result, he threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Taz Williams jr, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Aledo's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Red Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 12-1.
Aledo is on the road again on Friday and play against Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Abilene: 17.7, Aledo: 16.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Red Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
