After losing to the Grove Christian School Falcons the last time they met, the James River HomeSchool Eagles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. James River HomeSchool took down Grove Christian School 33-14 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for James River HomeSchool.
Grove Christian School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Hopkins, who scored 4 points along with 4 steals. Hopkins scored a full 28.6% of Grove Christian School's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ana Roe Brown was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.
James River HomeSchool now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Grove Christian School, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-5 record last season and are now at 1-2.
James River HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Allowing an average of 55.7 points per game, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game. As for Grove Christian School, they will square off against The New Community School at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
