Parker is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Englewood a 12-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Parker Braves will take on the Englewood Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parker comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Parker suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 63-13 defeat at the hands of St. Augustine. While losing is never fun, Parker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while St. Augustine is ranked 85th).
Even though Englewood has not done well against Wolfson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Englewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Wolfson and snuck past 38-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Englewood has posted yet this season.
Englewood can attribute much of their success to Nima Kargbo, who scored 15 points.
Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Englewood, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Everything came up roses for Parker against Englewood in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 52-22 win. Will Parker repeat their success, or does Englewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
