Auburn has gone 8-2 against Falls City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Auburn had just enough and edged out Raymond Central 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Christian Gage was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Gage wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clayton Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Griffin Sikora was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Falls City). They put the hurt on Holton with a sharp 9-1 win on Thursday. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.
Like Auburn, Falls City also got a great game from a two-way player: Orion Cattrell. On the mound, Cattrell didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Blakley Sells tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Cattrell scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Sells went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That RBI was Sells' first of the season.
In other batting news, Falls City let Gavin Bauer and Callan Furnas run wild. Bauer went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Furnas scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Furnas also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Willman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
The victory got Auburn back to even at 5-5. As for Falls City, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Auburn skirted past Falls City 6-4 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
