The Hawthorne Hornets entered their tilt with The Rock Lions with nine consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with ten. Hawthorne blew past The Rock 71-42 at home. With Hawthorne ahead 38-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Hawthorne can attribute much of their success to Jhalea Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakena Ealy, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Hawthorne pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for The Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hawthorne will take on Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rock will be home for the holidays to greet P.K. Yonge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully P.K. Yonge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
