It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bothell Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged Caruthers out 57-55. The win was familiar territory for Bothell who now have ten in a row.
It was another big night for McKylee Hawkins, who scored 33 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Yuna McConnell, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bothell's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Caruthers, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bothell will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Inglemoor at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st. Inglemoor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Bothell is ranked 11th). Caruthers won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th.
