The Axtell Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Pike Valley with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Axtell also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Despite the loss, Pike Valley still got an impressive performance from Breanna Reeves, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Reeves scored a full 54.5% of Pike Valley's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Pike Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win got Axtell back to even at 1-1. As for Pike Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Axtell will be home for the holidays to greet Rock Hills on Friday. As for Pike Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Sylvan-Lucas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
