The Centennial Cougars will square off against the Summit Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Centennial's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Overton 7-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Drew McAllister, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Overton off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for McAllister.

At the plate, Gabriel Shepler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Gant, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Summit sidestepped Green Hill for a 3-2 victory.
Summit also got a great performance from Brady North as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. North also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Spartans are 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Summit's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Woodard, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Todd Schramm also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Summit is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.
Centennial was able to grind out a solid victory over Summit when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 8-4. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
