This season hasn't been kind to The Crosbyton Chiefs, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by Sudan 53-12 on Friday. Crosbyton lost against Sudan in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-0 score last time.
Trent Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sudan, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 248 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Jaibryn Ornleas was another key contributor, picking up 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Crosbyton's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Sudan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crosbyton will challenge Ralls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sudan, they will head out on the road to face off against Bovina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
