Basketball Recap: First Baptist Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Live Oak Classical, First Baptist was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Fellowship Academy Mustangs with a sharp 46-23 win. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

First Baptist's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Jacobo-Redding, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. What's more, Jacobo-Redding posted three assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Jane Jones, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

First Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.9 points on average over those games. As for Fellowship Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

First Baptist has already played their next matchup, a 62-23 victory against Saint Jo on the 2nd. As for Fellowship Academy, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
