After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weaver, the Classical Magnet Gladiators were happy to have found some success on Monday. Everything went their way against University as Classical Magnet made off with a 77-54 win. That's another feather in the cap for Classical Magnet, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, University still got an impressive performance from Malik Rich, who scored 26 points. That was a full 48.1% of University's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Appiah-Hagan, who scored 11 points.
Classical Magnet is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for University, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Classical Magnet will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Branford at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Branford is ranked 95th, while Classical Magnet is ranked 93rd). As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilcox RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
