Basketball Recap: Preston Brunton Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Prairie View

Mountain Range's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Prairie View Thunderhawks as the Mountain Range Mustangs made off with a 73-50 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mountain Range's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Brunton, who shot 7-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Brunton a new career-high in blocks (three). Moses West was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Mountain Range was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prairie View only posted six assists.

Despite the loss, Prairie View still got an impressive performance from Taiye Ojowa, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonso Arias, who posted nine points.

Mountain Range's record is now 4-9. As for Prairie View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Mountain Range wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-68 defeat against Green Mountain on the 18th. As for Prairie View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-65 victory against Wheat Ridge on the 17th.
