On Monday, the Waverly Tigers narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Westfall Mustangs  3-2.
 Waverly was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-14, 15-25, 25-13,  15-10.
 Waverly  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 13  aces. That's the most  aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.
 Waverly's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-9. As for Westfall, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
 Waverly will stay at home for another  game and welcome Minford at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Westfall, they are on the road again  on Tuesday to play Paint Valley at 6:15  p.m. Westfall is facing Paint Valley at the right time seeing as Paint Valley is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
