The Thunder Ridge Titans will take on the Pocatello Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thunder Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Thunder Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Blackfoot, who was ranked 19th at the time (Thunder Ridge was ranked 23rd). The Titans took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos on Tuesday.
Zoey Sorg (2028) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Pocatello waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunder have posted since May 10, 2025.
Not much got past Charlie Naylor, who gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Highland off the board. Naylor has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Pocatello's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adisyn Schmidtgall, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Pocatello's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Thunder Ridge, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Thunder Ridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. However, it's not like Pocatello struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Thunder Ridge skirted past Pocatello 4-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
