After losing to the West Shore Wildcats the last time they met, the Melbourne Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Melbourne walked away with a 51-41 victory over West Shore on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Melbourne.
Melbourne was led to victory by Alison Hayes and Gabrielly Bortolucci. Hayes scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Bortolucci dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bortolucci scored 15 or more points. Addyson Turba was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
The win got Melbourne back to even at 4-4. As for West Shore, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Melbourne won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Cocoa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. West Shore will be home for the holidays to greet Merritt Island at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Merritt Island is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
