Basketball Game Preview: Bandys Trojans vs. Lincolnton Wolves

Bandys has gone 9-1 against Lincolnton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bandys Trojans will head out to challenge the Lincolnton Wolves at 6:15 p.m. Bandys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

Bandys' tournament run continued when they took on North Lincoln on Saturday. Bandys lost 68-42 to North Lincoln. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Knights are ranked 45th).

Bandys' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lexi Vaughan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards, and Haley Cross, who posted eight points. Vaughan's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Even though they lost, Bandys smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lincolnton hadn't done well against West Lincoln recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Lincolnton came out on top against West Lincoln by a score of 40-29. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bandys' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lincolnton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Everything went Bandys' way against Lincolnton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Bandys made off with a 61-35 victory. Does Bandys have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincolnton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
