After flying high against the Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots on Thursday, Calvary Christian Academy came back down to earth. Calvary Christian Academy took a 33-17 bruising from Sts. Peter & Paul on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calvary Christian Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Calvary Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Diaya Armantrading, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. Armantrading has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.
Calvary Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Calvary Christian Academy and Worcester Prep will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Worcester Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 171st in Maryland, while Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 37th in Delaware). Sts. Peter & Paul won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenwood Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Greenwood Mennonite: 18.1, Sts. Peter & Paul: 24.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
