Westover has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Triton Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Westover will be strutting in after a victory while the Hawks will be coming in after a loss.
In what's become a running theme this season, Westover gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 58-0 win over Harnett Central. While fans of Westover might be used to big wins, the 58-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Westover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Princess Canady, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Canady has scored all season. Rmani Robinson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Triton lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 63-38 defeat to Terry Sanford might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Triton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 35th).
Westover's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Triton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Westover beat the Hawks 35-27 when the teams last played back in January. Will Westover repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
