If Richfield was riding high fresh off their 51-30 takedown of Union two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. 2025 welcomed the Richfield Wildcats with a 74-50 loss courtesy of the Kanab Cowboys on Thursday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Richfield still got an impressive performance from Abbee Albrecht, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. That was a full 36% of Richfield's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lilly Crane, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.
Kanab was led to victory by Savannah Bateman and Rylee Little. As for Kanab, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-45 win against Beaver on the 4th.
