Denver Christian is 1-7 against Colorado Academy since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Denver Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Saturday, Denver Christian got the win against Monte Vista by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

James Lord was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Nate Bovasso also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Colorado Academy had just enough and edged out Resurrection Christian 4-3 on Saturday.
Colorado Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kieran Delaney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Charlie Rakowski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Denver Christian pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Colorado Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Both Denver Christian and Colorado Academy just can't seem to miss. The Thunder have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Colorado Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Denver Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Colorado Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 13-9. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
