New Hope-Solebury has won three straight games at home, while MAST Community Charter has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Lions will welcome the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (New Hope-Solebury 3.3, MAST Community Charter 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
New Hope-Solebury took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Hatboro-Horsham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Hatters on Thursday.
Mabel Klossner made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Klossner wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ali Rickard, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask MAST Community Charter). They never let Delaware County Christian get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.
Like New Hope-Solebury, MAST Community Charter also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordan Jennings. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Jennings was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, MAST Community Charter got a massive performance out of Catherine Ewald, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kiley McCammitt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
MAST Community Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
New Hope-Solebury is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for MAST Community Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. New Hope-Solebury has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like MAST Community Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went New Hope-Solebury's way against MAST Community Charter in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as New Hope-Solebury made off with a 17-1 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
