Defeat or not, St. Paul got some senior leadership from Gracie Kelley who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds and Gracie Mudloff who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Wood River was the victim of a rough 67-46 loss at the hands of Adams Central on Tuesday. Wood River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Wood River saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Macie Peters, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Peters scored a full 30.4% of Wood River's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sidney Frear was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
St. Paul's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wood River, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
