The Bradford Prep Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lincoln Charter, falling 60-20. While losing is never fun, Bradford Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Lincoln Charter is ranked 157th).
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Marlow, who scored six points. Anani Delgado was another key contributor, scoring six points.
It was another big night for Kallie Lusk, who scored 31 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals for Lincoln Charter. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lusk has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Claire David, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Bradford Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Lincoln Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradford Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Bradford Prep is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, so Piedmont Community Charter is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Lincoln Charter, they will square off against Christ the King at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christ the King is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
