After soaring to 40 points the game before, The North County Knights were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a serious blow against Broadneck, falling 42-6. North County has struggled against Broadneck recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, North County still got an impressive performance from Nate Bedell, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown. Bedell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Broadneck got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Mauldin out in front who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Patrick Doyle, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
North County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Broadneck, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
North County will face off against South River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (South River is ranked 111th, while North County is ranked 131st). As for Broadneck, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crofton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crofton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
