Shore - South B recap November 19, 2013
Lakewood moved up to 144 from 209 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Shore - South B. The Piners were able to move up by topping Delran 20-12.
Pinelands Regional fell to Middle Township 54-15 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Barnegat's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cinjun Erskine threw for 85 and 2 touchdowns and Manny Bowen had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler McGuiness contributed 223 yards. Ricky Gerena helped Barnegat's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 17 yards.
McGuiness was a beast in the backfield as the Bengals topped Pemberton.
McGuiness provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Barnegat defeated the Hornets. McGuiness' favorite target this week was Bowen, who caught 2 passes for 55 yards.
Erskine put up the best numbers through the air as Rob Davis' team beat Pemberton.
The Bengals' Erskine and Bowen have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Erskine has thrown for 897 yards this season, while Bowen has 21 catches for 449 yards. Manchester Township's Amani Richardson leads the league in rushing yards with 866.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Monsignor Donovan takes on the Hawks. As it stands, the Griffins are in fourth, while Manchester Township is in sixth.
