After losing to the Panther Valley Panthers the last time they met, the Lehighton Indians decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Lehighton strolled past Panther Valley with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 68-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lehighton.
Panther Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Weaver, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Fisher, who scored 13 points.
Lehighton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Panther Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lehighton will take on Blue Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lehighton in Pennsylvania (Blue Mountain is ranked 109th, while Lehighton is ranked 313th). As for Panther Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jim Thorpe at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jim Thorpe is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
