Basketball Recap: Bunn Drops Highest Score of Season Against Nash Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bunn). They blew past the Nash Central Bulldogs 73-37 on Monday. The Wildcats have beaten the Bulldogs the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Leading Bunn to victory were CJ Kearney and Josiah Rice. Kearney dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten assists, while Rice went 6 of 10 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Those ten assists gave Kearney a new career-high. Isaac Bailey was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Bunn was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bunn's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Nash Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bunn won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nash Central, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Southeast Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Halifax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
