Football Recap: Edgewood Skates Past West Vigo with Ease

Edgewood never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the West Vigo Vikings 35-0. Considering the Mustangs have won four matchups by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Edgewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Carpenter, who rushed for 149 yards and one TD while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Jaxton Collier was in the mix too, providing the Mustangs with two scores.

Edgewood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for West Vigo, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Edgewood will look to defend their home field on Friday against Beech Grove at 7:00 p.m. As for West Vigo, they will head out on the road to challenge South Putnam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
