Holliday was led to victory by Tyrese Polite and Grant Cox. Polite gained 86 total yards and two touchdowns, while Cox threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Polite was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Holliday also got help from Landry Huchton who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.
S & S Consolidated's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.9 points per game. As for Holliday, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. S & S Consolidated will face off against Henrietta at 6:40 p.m. on Friday. Henrietta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than S & S Consolidated in Texas (Henrietta is ranked 448th, while S & S Consolidated is ranked 1118th). As for Holliday, they will head out on the road to face off against City View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
